Are the A1101 Safety Measures Too Little Too Late?

Yet another accident has happened recently along the A1101, near Gypsy Lane. Both of the drivers had to be cut out of their vehicles before taken to hospital. Safety measures are being undertaken to make this zone safer for drivers, dropping the speed limit. There have been several accidents and deaths along this stretch of road in these past years so how much do you think these measures will make a difference?

Wasnt there something a while ago about floral tributes being taken down after a certain amount of time because they were distracting to motorists? I think this is awful, as you say its more of a reminder than a distraction. People should be allowed to grieve in this way as long as they wish too.

You'd think that the amount of floral tributes along that stretch of road would serve as sufficient warning to motorists to slow down. I don't think dropping the speed limit will make any difference unless cameras are installed to enforce it. Even the presence of speed cameras won't make any difference so far as reckless overtaking is concerned.  Unfortunately there is little anyone can do to legislate against stupidity.

not alot to be honest.I still think it hinges on how the drivers conduct themselves and stick to the speed limit.I didnt hear of accidents on this road when we had all the snow, would the reason for this be that as there was so much snow people couldnt drive fast due to the road conditions???????
