Hi All,

As some of you know - I'm the county councillor for the Roman Bank & Peckover division.  I've previously discussed setting up some local "surgeries" to allow residents to come and chat / report problems.

Well, I've now booked all the halls for my forthcoming "first round" of surgeries.

I'd like to welcome any constituents, local businesses (or people with an interest in my division) to come along and ask me questions, bend my ear, tell me off, give me a piece of their mind, offer me the benefit of their wisdom, suggest improvements, report problems, wax lyrical, moan bitterly, share a joke or a story, try and sell me life insurance, double-glazing or a time share in Majorca - or just generally chin-wag and say: "hello".   You can even just say: "You're doing a great job, keep it up!" if you like (Hey!  You can't blame a guy for wishful thinking...!)

Tea, Coffee, Biccies (and maybe even a cake or two) will be provided.  (Before the cynics start up - I am funding the surgeries myself - the tired taxpayer is not liable for any part of the expense.)

January 22nd - NEWTON "MEET YOUR COUNTY COUNCILLOR / SURGERY"

Newton Village Hall.  11Am - 2PM

February 19th - GOREFIELD "MEET YOUR COUNTY COUNCILLOR / SURGERY"

GorefieldVillage Hall.  11Am - 2PM

March 19th - LEVERINGTON "MEET YOUR COUNTY COUNCILLOR / SURGERY"

Leverington Village Hall.  11Am - 2PM

April 23rd - TYDD ST. GILES "MEET YOUR COUNTY COUNCILLOR / SURGERY"

Tydd St. Giles Village Hall.  11Am - 2PM

May - WISBECH PECKOVER "MEET YOUR COUNTY COUNCILLOR / SURGERY"

(Date and Venue to be confirmed)

Parish and District councillors : would be very welcome indeed - and If you'd like to share some space at my surgeries - you only have to ask.

Obviously, if nobody shows up, I may end up sitting in an empty hall catching up on the latest Stephen King novel!  But I'll take that chance.  I quite like Stephen King novels.  And hopefully, at least some of you will take the opportunity to drink some free tea, eat some free baked delights and pass the time of the day with your Friendly Neighbourhood Web-Slinger County Councillor.

: )

See you there, I hope.

You would be more than welcome, BubbleBoy. If you have a particularly preference of biscuit you can let me know in advance and I'll do my best to oblige. : )

Hi Steve. This sounds like a great initiative and thank you for posting it on the site. I wonder if people may miss your message as it moves down the page , so just a little suggestion to put each one in the Events section too where it will stay for reference until after the event.

And if there's cake involved, you can expect to see one of the team from wisbechpeople at at least one of the surgeries...we'll be the ones at the back making scoffing noises.....for the cakes, not at your political views, of course!
