Possible Paid Parking For Wisbech?!!

I can see that we have already started discussing it, both on here, on facebook, person to person. This seems to be rattling a few cages. Before this all came up we have said that we are lucky that we don't have to pay in any of the car parks. Visitors I have had from out of town were surprised that we didn't have to pay a single penny for the privilege.

I can see a lot of us citizens have been saying, basically, what is the point of it?! Nobody would want to pay to park in Wisbech, a town that is spiralling down into the depths of despair. Is that too dramatic?

One facebook member has written "King's Lynn you can travel all day on local buses for £2.20 you can park

all day for no more than £3.50 and the shops are better....ok i show

you the logic of WISBECH look at the new pets at home where they have

put it on a complex you cannot even drive a highsided van on to."

If paid parking does finally happen, what will happen to the people who work in the shops in the Market Place and Horsefair? There is only a very limited number of staff parking. It would not be fair to have to impose a charge on the working citizens of Wisbech who need to drive and park close to the site.
