Magistrate Court Wisbech

There is still uncertainty over the future of the Magistrates Court in Wisbech after it was earmarked for closure. The cost cutting proposal would then have everything moved to Peterborough. This would create a merger between Fenland and Peterborough Local Justice Area and in turn would reduce admin work and so save money. The proposal document states that the building falls short of the minimum requirements and is no longer viable as a courthouse.
What are your views? Please visit the Department of Justice website, under consultation section, where there is a questionnaire and give your views on the proposal.
Closing date. September 15 2010.

Reportif they do close it take it ,it will either be another derelict building , or they might think they could house more illegal homeless immigrants in it . whatever fenland decides it wont be in the interesr of wisbech thats for sure !

ReportI'm all ways sceptical when i here centraliseation will save money and paper work. It usually increases paper work needs more people to do the same job and communcation breaks down between different parties. It does however leave a nice building in a prime area for sale.....Mmmmmm
