Does Thomas Clarkson Community College Concentrate On Sport?
By Briar_Rose | Sunday, July 25, 2010, 22:11
In the beginning when The Queen's School originally began the change over to the Thomas Clarkson it was said that it was to be concentrating on sports and integrated new and up to the minute sports facilities within its grounds. Is this still the case? I'm not really sure whether Thomas Clarkson is like a sports academy or anything close to it? Or is it just a regular all round school? Perhaps someone can help me.
I have looked on the TC website and in the "about" section it says more about Wisbech rather the actual school.

I just wondered two things. One firstly if they were and two if they were whether sports is something they should be concentrating on. Perhaps a school that is not favoured amongst the towns citizens should concentrate on academic subjects.

ReportOn the TC website there is a PE website button...it says"we begin our academy this term...."I am not sure when this was published so therefore cannot tell when this sports academy started. The PE site does look pretty comprehensive though i have only quickly looked at it....hope this may help you.

ReportThere is an article about Thomas Clarkson introducing a Sports Academy programme in which gifted pupils get special coaching to make the most of their abilities. Having said this I too am unaware of whether they followed up with their plans or whether this is just an addition. http://tinyurl.com/29kys3j - This is the Sports Academy Story.
