Bowling Green Pub in Wisbech Possibly Transformed to Day Care Centre

Successful business First Steps Childcare in Walton Highway hope to expand their business by converting the once notorious pub into a childcare centre and after school club holding around 76 children. They will hope to employ approximately 12 people at the centre, which will be good for some unemployed people in the area perhaps and struggling parents juggling with work and children. This conversion would also coincide with regeneration plans.

Do you believe this is a good plan for the area or would you rather it be kept as a community pub? Perhaps you have other ideas of what it could be used for?

We can but wait and see as to how this idea pans out. I to never ventured into the bowling green, so cant really comment, but havent we alot of pubs in the surrounding area. A different use im sure would be welcome, but would there be enough use made of it ? Well we will have to wait and see.

I think this is a brilliant idea, I personally never ventured into the Bowling Green pub but heard a lot about it and it sounded quite a rough place to go. I remember someone saying that they DJ'd for a wedding or something and there was a proper brawl taking place, the only one where he'd been that that had happened. Also I knew someone that used to go there quite a lot with his friends and he came back with stories about how rough it was.

I'm glad that this place can be turned around into something useful.
