Please tell me i am not the only person who thinks that yet another pedestrian crossing on the main roundabout is a recipe for disaster. they have moved the lights on lynn road closer to the roundabout, we have the zebra crossing on churchill road and now to complete the hattrick there is now a second pedestrian crossing on freedom bridge. there are surely going to be far more accidents and hold ups. the police station is now part time and hardly used, the court house has been closed so there are far less pedestrians in this area, so please someone tell me which bright spark sat at his desk pushing his pen around and thought to himself - i know, lets put a pedestrian crossing in there now. half sharp or what?!!!!!

And yet the zebra crossing between Horsefair and the BP garage is desperate for traffic lights before someone gets hurt, yet this seems to have been ignored.

The reason for the crossing is because in 2004 a seven year old girl Carla minns was nearly killed by a lorry crossing over near the bridge,add the fact there is going to be major housing in the next few years there it makes sense.,as for the new traffic light system further down near the new nursery,i'm guessing its for he same reason..there has been 2 deaths around that area Mr lock killed by a lorry on the zebra crossing...you had the Lithuania man who decided to throw himself under a lorry near aldi...you had another one fall under the wheels near the horsefair carpark..same say he was drunk ..not stopping him trying to sue the lorry driver for a cool million thou ..
