Today my friend and I visited Morrisons Supermarket in Wisbech and ordered two all day breakfasts. This was approx. 11.27 am.
When the meals arrived we had to pick over the cutlery and then clean them with a napkin as they were not cleaned very well. We put salt and vinegar onto our food and started to eat at which time my friend noticed that the vinegar bottle had a number of dead flies in it. The bottle was 7/8ths empty. We complained and the duty manager Mr Callum Pilgrim came to our table shouting that all vinegar bottles were checked nightly. We pointed out the flies and asked how these could not have been noticed last night and as it was only 11.30 it was dubious that the flies got into the bottle this morning. There was a plastic sprinkler in the top of the bottle so how could this have happened ?
I have contacted Morrissons customer care this afternoon at approx. 3 pm on 0845 6116111. The said it was an obvious error and thanked me for bringing this to their attention.
This has made both of us feel sick. We always had high regard for Morrissons but never again.
