All change in Wisbech?
By traci_edwards | Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 15:03
Wisbech and March in Cambridgeshire could soon join with Downham Market in Norfolk as part of planned changes to Parliamentary boundaries.
These proposed changes in the Fenland area are part of the Government strategy to reduce the number of MPs, although the overall number of MPs in Cambridgeshire won't change.
What do you think? Does it matter to you if your constituency in Wisbech also runs across county boundaries into Norfolk?
People can make representations in writing, or in person by attending one of a series of public hearings being held during the consultation period which runs until early December 2011
The address for written representations is: Boundary Commission for England, 35 Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3BQ. Or e-mail eastern@bcommengland.x.gsi.gov.uk

It'd be sad to lose Whittlesey and Chatteris from our constituency, but Downham Market is a great town too.
Of course this may also mean changes in local government down the line...
Interesting times.
