Yet more roadworks starting in Wisbech this week are likely to cause more misery for drivers trying to get in and out of town from tomorrow!

Don't forget that the Town Bridge is closed from 23rd January 2012 until 29 June 2012 for flood defence and pilng installation works.

Diversion is going to be -

Northbound via Old Market and North Street

Southbound - via Churchill Road - A47 Bypass (West), Cromwell Road and South Brink.

With all the other roadworks in town including the development by the new Cromwell Gardens estate and at the top of Weasenham Lane, we predict some serious road rage tomorrow if you don't leave yourself enough time to get round all the temporary traffic lights and diversions around town!!

I know!! I suspect that it's actually the petrol retailers who sponsor roadworks so that you end up using loads of fuel by going NOWHERE! Grrr, working from home, it's got to be the only way forward......

Had enough, took me 40mins to go from Newbridge lane to Mount pleasant on friday at 6pm.So today decided to go through Weasenham Lane and turn off and that took me 45mins.It is not even 2.5miles.Two lots of roadworks within a mile, long waiting times, and I thought Peterborough was bad.
