Wisbech Couple win Euromillions!

A Wisbech couple who scooped over £101 million in the EuroMillions draw had only played twice before. Dave and Angela Dawes bought their Euromillions ticket at W H Smiths in the Market Place in Wisbech and overnight became the third biggest lottery winners in the UK.

At the press conference to announce their win, Mr Dawes described how they discovered that they had won.

He said: "We were watching TV and the EuroMillions draw show came on so we kept watching, not thinking we would win anything.

"We got our tickets out and watched in shock as, one by one, the numbers came up on the line I'd chosen."

Asked how they plan to spend their money, the couple explained how they are planning to make millionaires of friends and family.

Chelsea fan Dave, 47, said: "We have a list of 15 to 20 people who we are going to make millionaires. Anyone who has helped us through our life."

Angela, 43, added: "It's an excessive amount of money but we intend to make our friends and family millionaires."

She said that they had already broken the news to some of the people that they would be helping.

The couple, who have been together for four years, were planning to get married abroad next year so the windfall means they can now enjoy the wedding of their dreams.

So...where will the lucky couple live? Are they planning to stay in Wisbech?

As a Chelsea fan, Dave revealed he wanted to get a place near Stamford Bridge and Angela said firmly that they wouldn't be staying in their current home, a one bedroomed flat in Wisbech. Dave commented "I have a lot of good friends in Wisbech and I will be keeping in touch with them".

The winning EuroMillions numbers on Friday were 18, 26, 34, 38, 42 and the Lucky Star numbers were 5 and 8.

The multi-million pound winning pair admitted they would never buy another EuroMillions ticket after their stunning victory. Maybe there's just a little bit of their luck left in Wisbech somewhere and we could have another fabulous win this weekend...It Could Be You.
