Sports Round-Up......Part 2

I posted a Wisbech Sports Round-Up last week & there was some confusion about the scores.  Wisbech Rugby Club's website listed a 66-12 win over Thetford in the RFU Vase but my father told me that he left at half-time with Wisbech trailing by about 40 points.

It turns out he was mistaken about this & Wisbech did in fact have a comprhensive win.  My father (who I will never trust again with news!!) seems to have been confused because the away team played in Wisbech's colours.  Did they or was he just.....confused.

His argument is that if they played in the same colours then it should be the away team that changes strip & he is absolutely right.  What he is forgetting or more likely just doesn't understand never having played organised team sports is that the oppo may not have had a change strip at all so Wisbech volunteered to change.  I don't know.  It might be some RFU rule that the home side must change as rugby is much more about hospitality than football & feeding & watering the oppo is as much a part of it as the actual match itself which can never be said of the round ball game.  Now I have chased eggs for clubs & played football (much more) & football definitely doesn't cater for other team in any way other than occasionally providing changing rooms.

Maybe someone could let me know about the strip change last Saturday, cheers.
