Sport Makers is a programme for everyone who'd like to make

sport happen for their friends, neighbours or colleagues. Sport Makers aims to

inspire 600 people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to get involved, with

each of them spending at least 10 hours organising or leading sporting

activities. It is open to anyone aged 16 and over.

Sport Makers is run by LIVING SPORT in Cambridgeshire and

Peterborough, in conjunction with Sport England and is part of the Places

People Play legacy programme that is bringing the magic of a home Olympic and

Paralympic Games into communities across the country. Every Sport Maker will be

invited to an informal and interactive workshop where they'll gain the skills

and opportunities to get involved in sport. Sport Makers will be introduced to

organisations that need their help, and join forces with others who want to

make sport happen locally. There'll also be plenty of incentives to stay

involved. Sport Makers for those that are 16+ and aimed at adult participation.

Why Sport Makers?

Sport Makers provides a number of benefits for those that

sign up to the programme.

*It is totally flexible. You choose which sports you

want to be involved with and who you want to make sport happen for – friends,

colleagues, neighbours or your local community.

*It's extremely rewarding. You will meet other people

interested in sport; find new ways of getting involved that suit you and gain

access to resources that will help you organise your own activities if that's

what you'd prefer.

*Sport Makers will also develop new skills that could be

useful in other areas of your life. Employers love to see outside activities on

a CV so it could even help you get a new job.

To be classed as a Sport Maker, individuals need to:

- Register on www.sportmakers.co.uk
