Missing Wisbech teenager Alisa Dmitrijeva's body has been identified through forensic DNA testing as matching the remains found on New Year's Day at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

Detective Chief Inspector Jes Fry spoke on earlier today appealing for very specific information to help with the enquiry into how the Wisbech teenager lost her life on or near to the Queen's estate.

"We are trying to establish the events that have taken place within Sandringham or the surrounding parishes, concentrating on the end of August to the end of September," DCI Fry said today.

"We're not asking everyone who's been there because we'll be inundated with thousands of calls. We're actually looking for event organisers so that we can look at what's actually relevant to the enquiry, then contact them or people that may have been at those specific events"

Alisa was last seen on the 31st of August last year in Kings Lynn, and was reported missing by a member of her family on 6th September when a county-wide search was launched to try and locate the missing girl.

The Latvian teenager's body was discovered by a dog walker in woodland about a mile from the main gate towards Sandringham House

Detectives, who have spoken to the Sandringham gamekeeper, estate manager and beaters for potential leads, are keen to speak to anyone with information.

The site where Alisa's body was found is used regularly for pheasant and partridge shoots, often attended by members of the royal household.

Alisa's family said in a brief statement: 'We are devastated by the news of Alisa's death. We wish to grieve in private.'

Anyone with any information relating to the incident should contact the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team at Norfolk Constabulary on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
