Police are Using Social Media to Trace a Missing Wisbech Teenager.

Alisa Dmitrijeva, 17, has not been seen since shortly after midnight in Friars Street, King's Lynn, on August 31. She was reported missing by a relative on September 6.

Now police are using Facebook in a bid to track her down.

They have created a Facebook advert targeted at people living in Wisbech, Norfolk and Lincolnshire. Users will be directed to a 'landing page' on the force website for details of the last sighting of Alisa and the £5000 reward being offered for information that leads to officers tracing her.

The advert is in English, Latvian and Lithuanian.

Detective Chief Inspector Melanie Dales said: "We know Alisa used social media so this advert will target people who may have information about her whereabouts.

"By translating the advert we hope to reach members of the community who know Alisa but may not have seen the appeals in traditional media."

Local officers have been distributing posters promoting the £5000 reward. The posters, which have been translated into Lithuanian and Latvian, have been placed in Wisbech, Peterborough, Kings Lynn and Lincoln.

DCI Dales added: "We know Alisa has connections to the Wisbech, Kings Lynn, Peterborough and Lincoln areas and believe that someone knows where she is.

"It's been several months since anyone saw or heard from her and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her safety.

"I would urge anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact police."
